For the 11th consecutive year CAPA College were selected to perform and teach at Move It, the UK’s leading performing arts exhibition. CAPA College students took to the Mainstage with three exciting and diverse choreographies: ‘Discotheque’ – a high-energy commercial dance performance exploring the style and music of the 1970’s created by CAPA College resident choreographers Keith Luke Gillott & Alex Bowen; ‘Whitney’ – a choreographic tribute to the great Whitney Houston in a slick jazz dance performance choreographed by Alex Bowen; ‘On the fence (about something)’ – an extract of the wonderful contemporary choreography by CAPA College alumnus John-William Watson. CAPA College were also selected to perform in the Move It Showcase Theatre with four performances of an all singing, all dancing Musical Theatre medley of ‘In the Heights.’ Fantastic performance opportunities for the CAPA College students to be perform in such a high profile event and receive such wonderful audience reactions. Alongside student performances, CAPA College staff were invited to teach four sell-out dance masterclasses in a range of dance styles, with teachers receiving fantastic feedback from participants.
