Welcome to CAPA College!

CAPA College is a specialist Creative and Performing Arts College for students aged 16-19 who are serious about pursuing a career in the Arts. Our top team of professional teachers, directors, choreographers, musical directors, designers and technicians strive to inspire, train and educate the next generation of stars. 

We believe that all young people with a talent and passion for the Arts should be able to access high quality opportunities, education and training regardless of circumstance and as the only DfE-funded free school in Wakefield we are incredibly proud to fly the flag for Arts in the North of England. 

Our results have been consistently outstanding and we are currently in the top 1% for student progress in the country. We have high expectations for both staff and students ensuring that excellence is achieved, whilst creating a supporting and nurturing environment for young people. 

Students time training at CAPA College is about much more than just qualifications; whilst studying here, students receive a timetable and curriculum that is jam-packed with opportunities, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to access the best conservatoires and go on to lead successful careers within the Arts. 

We are incredibly excited for the future of CAPA College as we prepare to move to our permanent, purpose–build accommodation based in the heart of Wakefield, ensuring that even more young people have access to incredible industry-standard facilities combined with high-quality training.
