‘Mupenyu’ was choreographed by exciting young artist Anthony Matsena, who was born in Zimbabwe and grew up in Swansea. He trained professionally at London Contemporary Dance School and is currently a Young Associate Artist with Sadler’s Wells.
Fresh from creating a new touring work for the National Dance Company of Wales, we are thrilled that Anthony has created a piece that draws on the energy of the 16 young men of Momentum Youth Boys sharing one space with one another. The bond and trust between them strengthens the more they play and creates an infectious, irresistible energy guaranteed to leave you smiling.
‘Mupenyu’ was showcased at the Junction 2020 dance show in Northampton before being selected to be performed my Momentum at Fresh 2020.
